We designed one custom Fault under shadowed Windows entity with “HealthCheck” tag. Now when we are executing healthcheck on any Windows entity even though under HealthCheck Fault selection policy we didn’t choose the custom fault to execute, it is running by default.
Please can anyone let me know how such setting can be made so that only faults that we select under “HealthCheck Fault selection policy”, only that execute.
Hi, this is not available in SP6. That is, in SP6, custom faults are not considered in HC fault selection policy for Windows and Linux. It will work for other technologies. We are considering this enhancement in SP8.
So if we develop some custom faults suppose on Windows entity and if we execute Check Health function on any Windows entity in SP6 patch 2, we cannot stop those custom fault to execute. Is my understanding correct ?
I would suggest to evaluate if that fault is really at Windows OS level or the fault is for an application or any other entity which is executed on Windows.
If the fault is for Windows OS, it should default execute for Windows OS along with other faults.
